High-Demand Training Programs: Education, Health and Human Services

Family Development Credential (FDC)

The Family Development Credential program is a professional development training designed to provide frontline workers with the skills and competencies needed to empower families to set and reach their own goals for healthy self-reliance in their communities.

To earn the FDC, candidates participate in 80 hours of intensive and interactive classroom study including topics such as communication, strength-based assessment and helping families access specialized services. In addition, candidates receive 10 hours of advisement based on Empowerment Skills for Family Workers, complete a portfolio documenting their ability to apply these concepts and skills, and must pass a standardized exam.
